We facilitate the professional development of LGBTQ+ students as they transition from school to career in order to build a national network within the community. Graphic Designer

Overview
Start Proud is recruiting a volunteer Graphic Designer who will partner closely with our Marketing and Creative leadership teams to execute assets across channels, refine our brand identity, and help drive engagement. 

Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with the Creative Director and Marketing Director to translate strategy into cohesive designs and create compelling content 

  • Design digital assets: email templates, web banners or logos, social media graphics, and campaign visuals 

  • Produce occasional print materials: postcards, brochures, signage, and event collateral 

  • Prepare and package files for internal use, vendor handoff, or print production 

  • Conceptualize the creative development of integrated campaigns across paid, earned and owned platforms, along with the creative director.  

Requirements

  • Proven experience in graphic design and branding - at least one (1) to two (2) years' experience

  • Educational background in graphic design 

  • Strong portfolio showcasing both digital and print work 

  • Familiarity with file prep for print and digital channels 

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset 

  • Alignment with Start Proud’s values of diversity, equity, and inclusion 

Technical Skills

  • Experienced in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro  

  • Experienced in designing for Microsoft 365 suite 

  • Experience with using Figma or similar software for quick design iterations and maintaining design systems 

  • Experience with using Webflow or similar software for websites.   

Commitment 

  • ~5-10 hours per month 

  • Mandatory attendance at team meetings
